We still have loads of energy saving light bulbs avaliable free to the local community at megabytes. you can call in to collect them at megabytes and ask for Gail.

‘The Local Community Police would like to inform you that they are working closely with the South Wales Police Off-road Motor Cycle Team, within the Ynysowen area. They have recently started this new operation to reduce the use of off road cycles. To date they have confiscated 10 off road bikes, have issued 9 warnings and have been able to take 3 individuals to court. The Police would also like to mention that this is an on going operation.’

Project Receives Welsh Assembly Government and European Funding

We have been awarded £703,381 from the European Objective One programme which is facilitated by the Welsh European Funding Office. Funding has also been secured from the Welsh Assembly Governments Communities First programme. Together the funding will be used to establish and enhance a number of services across the Merthyr Vale ward, which includes:
  • Healthy Living Centre Coordinator.
  • Youth provisions for young people in Ynysowen.
  • Community Transport.
  • Adult Education/ Investors in People.
  • Teenage support / Housing support workers.
  • Dance / music workshops for young people.
